INSPIRED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT TO OFFER SPIRITUAL COUNSEL AT awfulyears25@yahoo.com

 

I was raised in a strict Catholic home. I believed that I was unworthy in the eyes of God because I sinned in thought, word, and deed. I definitely did "dred the loss of heaven and the pains of hell." I did not love God, I feared him as a demanding, vindictive, angry, all punishing creator.

Of course, when, at the age of 6, I knew that I was a homosexual, I was certain that God hated me.

Then, to atone for my sins, I went to the seminary for 4 years. I discovered that Catholic Theology and Philosophy portrayed God as infinitely loving and merciful. He so love his human creations that he came down to Earth and lived as a human being, preached love and understanding, and suffered a horrible death for all his human efforts.

I left the seminary and became what I call, "a recovering Catholic." I still had a relationship with God and was trying to evolve into a believer in the Loving, Merciful God of the New Testament.

Decades late, I met a somewhat unsettled, but kind and religious soul who was a recovering alcoholic, remaining sober for 36 years. As our friendship developed, I began to feel inspiration, visions, the force of Grace which led me to write the many religious Blogs on this blogsite.

Those of you who have read my other religious blogs know that I believe strongly that

1.    God is infinitely loving and merciful
2.    To be a good human being, all persons should follow the two greatest Commandments as presented  by Jesus in the NEW TESTAMENT OF THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW
1. L0VE THE LORD GOD WITH OUR WHOLE SOUL, MIND, AND BODY
2. LOVE OUR NEIGHBOURS AS WE LOVE OURSELVES                            
3. The Holy Spirit will give us the grace to use our talents to help our neighbours, for the Glory of God.
4. Everyone should commit themselves to help others to recognize that God is infinitely loving and   merciful and to help others to commit their lives to fulfilling the two greatest commandments.
5. We should all recognize that God made us in his image, instilling in us his goodness and beauty
6. However, God gave us free will so anyone may reject everything that I believe to be true.

I feel that it is the Holy Spirit, God's presence on earth, who has emboldened me to write these spiritual Blogs.

Now, I feel an urge to help others who are searching for answers, are concerned about where their lives are going, are looking for a connection with spirituality, are facing human problems which need solutions.

I feel that I must offer counselling or spiritual counselling for those who need it. I have a background in social psychology, adult education counselling, and religious studies. I want to help you with any difficulties you face.
