PRIDE TORONTO -- NOTHING TO DO WITH LGBTQ RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS.

Ron, my loving lifetime partner, and I have just got back to Toronto from visiting Huntsville, Ontario in the Muskoka Region, about a 3-hour drive North of Toronto. We came here to avoid the last weekend of Pride Toronto. This year from June 26, 2025 to June 30, 2025.

Decades ago, when gay liberation was still struggling for basic human rights, the Toronto Pride festival was a totally inclusive community event, celebrating and advocating for the rejection of bigotry and hate, and the acceptance of love and friendship among all human beings, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or race.

However, Pride Toronto now is a corporate money grab: forbidding various groups to participate including the gay positive Metropolitan Community Church and some gay male dance and social groups: harassing, disrupting, and exasperating neighbourhood life by keeping outside venues in Toronto neighbourhoods, blasting deafening music until 2 am, and basically Pride has become an excuse for a sex orgy and the blatant exclusivity and restrictions by the Dyke march .

It has little or nothing to do with LGBTQ Pride any more.

So, we go to North Central, Ontario to enjoy the friendly, acceptance, and inclusiveness of the Muskoka and Halliburton Regions.

The weather was mostly cool and wet, but we enjoyed driving and hiking around the region. We have visited many wonderful towns and areas, including Halliburton, Huntsville, Dwight, Carnarvon, Minden, Burke Falls, Algonquin Park, many hiking trails, rivers, and falls. June 29, 2025 was sunny and warm, so we went to the Lake of Bays region.

We could not return to Toronto until Monday Morning because the police and Pride Toronto Security block our car from getting to our home until late in the evening tonight, Sunday.

The people of the Muskoka and Halliburton region have Pride Flags flying, have community gatherings, and share friendship and inclusivity for those who want to get back to the inclusive, community roots of Pride.
