THE NEW TESTMENT ACT OF COMMITMENT PRAYER
As usual last night, when I go to bed, I always say the Our Father and the Act of Contrition. While saying the Act of Contrition, I realized that the Act of Contrition was a remnant of the Old Testament.
I had the feeling that since I believed that the New Testament is the new agreement with God, that I should be saying a New Testament prayer. My mind became flooded with what this new prayer should be. I felt inspired, but I was very tired, and there seemed to be a gentle voice telling me to go to sleep, not to worry, that I would not forget the New Testament Prayer.
Over the past few months, I seem to be inspired to write about how merciful and loving God is. I am not what I would call a religious person in the sense of a churchgoer. However, I have come to believe that my religious Blogs have been inspired by God.
When I work up this morning, immediately, I began writing what is called THE NEW TESTAMENT ACT OF COMMITMENT PRAYER. I truly believe this to be a prayer that the Holy Spirit wrote through me.
THE NEW
TESTAMENT ACT OF COMMITMENT PRAYER
Oh my God, through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, help me to
commit my life to your two greatest commandments: The first, I shall love
You My God with my whole heart, with my whole soul, and with my whole
mind. Second, I shall love my neighbours as myself.
Oh my God through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, help me to commit
my life to bringing all human beings to commit their lives to your two greatest
commandment and to accept that on these two commandments depends the whole law
and the prophets.
Oh my God, through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, help me to
commit my life to shine Your light before others by following your greatest
commandments in Your Name so that all may see my good deeds and
glorify You My Father in heaven.
Oh my God, through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, help me commit
my life to bringing all human beings to You to accept that You are a
Merciful and Loving God who created them in Your Own Image, giving them your
goodness and beauty.
Amen
