THE UGLY MALE BODY

Certainly, at least in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, the female form is considered beautiful, attractive, sexy, gorgeous with voluptuous breasts, petite feet and hands, luscious lips, pear-shaped buttocks, lovely gams, --- females are truly humans to cherish and, unfortunately in history, to possess. In musicals, dance shows, movies, dramas, women are as scantily clad as the current bylaws allow to show us human body perfection. Internet, online, TV advertisements amply display the ravishing, stunning female form.

Certainly, the male form, in general, is not considered good-looking. On the contrary, the male body, its junk and Speedos, are to remain invisible, shrouded, sequestered, hidden, and in any case should not be seen by the human eye.

Movies, TV dramas, and other performances portray other men as being utterly disgusted by male nudity, even though these men have the same biological equipment.

Yes, relatively recently, the male breasts seem to be pleasing to part of a general audience, but overall, female bodies are considered comely whereas the male body is basically hideous.

To consider the male body disgusting was not always the case. The Greek and Roman civilizations and other civilizations considered the male body to be an image of perfection and celebrated the male form in art.

I guess the heterosexual male dominated society finds disgusting, any inkling that the male body is appealing or desirable. Certainly, although straight women will recognize that another woman is attractive, straight men do not have enough confidence in their own sexuality to admit that another man is handsome.

I remember, as a young boy, how bad I felt about myself after hearing the following Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme

'What Are Little Girls Made Of?'

What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails,
And puppy-dogs' tails;
That's what little boys are made of.

What are little girls made of?
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice,
And all that's nice;
That's what little girls are made of.

I guess nothing has changed since Mother Goose.
