THE GOVERNMENTS OF CANADA, ONTARIO, AND TORONTO ARE DESTROYING ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY TRANSIT.

 

Ridership on the TTC has dropped 75% since the beginning of the lockdowns and restrictions. In response to this loss, the government is increasing fares and reducing service. This strategy will lead most likely to a further drop in ridership, more fare increases and service reductions to try to prevent a budget shortfall.

I have a much better strategy.

As is generally known, increasing the use of public transit is a cornerstone of environmental sustainability, by reducing carbon emission and avoiding the approaching climate catastrophe awaiting the world.

I suggest that the TTC reduce fares by a minimum of 20% and increase levels of service to 1.5 times the pre-lockdowns and restriction service. I dare the Canadian, Ontario, and Toronto to allow the environmentally friendly TTC to go bankrupt.

If they do block the fare reduction and service increase, they are making a powerful statement:

"WE THE GOVERNMENTS OF CANADA, ONTARIO, AND TORONTO DO NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE."

PLEASE PROMOTE SUPPORT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TRANSIT.
