COVID-19 -- A CHANCE TO RID THE WORLD OF DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOMS -- THE SHAME OF ALL OF US!

 

THROUGHOUT  HISTORY, THOSE IN POWER HAVE ALWAYS HAD SPECTACULARLY IMPORTANT REASONS FOR SUPPRESSING, DILUTING, OPPRESSING, REDUCING, ELIMINATING, OUTLAWING, OR DESTROYING HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS. THESE RATIONALES WERE TAKEN AS RIGHTEOUS AND JUST BY THOSE WHO HAD THE ABILITY TO DEFEND THE DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES BEING UNDERMINED BY A MALEVOLENT OR INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENTS.

Throughout history, monarchies and totalitarian regimes destroyed rights in order to stop those who would try to bring down the monarchy or dictatorship. Nazi Germany defiled democratic rights in order to protect racial and ethnic purity, a dominant tenant of Nazi belief. The Communist Republics curtailed freedom to fight those who tried to crush a system which purported to share resources equally among its population. During the Cold War, many Western Nations ignored many democratic rights to fight the spread of communism. After 9/11, the United States passed The Patriot Act, which in effect suspended all freedoms in order to fight terrorism.

Currently,  Governments around the world have annihilated any semblance of human rights and freedoms in order to fight Covid-19, an illness 99.7% of which current cases are mild and even in the height of the pandemic 99-4% of the cases were mild. Yet a large plurality of the world population support this ill-considered weakening of democratic rights or are apathetic while the majority of the world population is powerless to stop the social, psychological, non-covie-19 health, and financial catastrophes caused by this shattering of human rights and privileges.

HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS ARE A PREREQUISITE OF, REQUIREMENT, AND A PRECONDITION  FOR A JUST WORLD. THEY ARE BEING TREATED LIKE THEY ARE AN INCONVENIENCE. THIS TRAGEDY MUST STOP AND STOP NOW.

 THERE IS SOME HOPE IN THE WORLD?

SWEDEN

Sweden, a country much maligned by the world Medical Oligarchy, refused to promote harsh lockdowns and restrictions because the government knew them to be unconstitutional. Despite the misinformation presented by the Medical Oligarchy about how Sweden has fared, it has done better than almost every country that imposed complete lockdowns and harsh restrictions. Sweden ranks 45th in the world for rate of infections, despite no lockdowns, and ranks 57th in the world for rate of deaths per m. Covid-19 Statistics In addition, unlike in lockdown countries, Sweden continued to treat non-covid-19 patients such as cancer, heart and stroke, lung, etc. and thus did not experience an incredible increase in deaths as was experience in lockdown countries. Suicides and death by domestic violence did not increase. Sweden has no mental health pandemic, and financial problems were less than in those countries which imposed lockdowns. Sweden managed to fight Covid-19 without prostituting it respect for human rights and freedoms.

SPAIN

Spain was one of the European countries which imposed lockdowns and harsh restrictions throughout the pandemic. It fared far worse than Sweden. Spain is 36th in rate of cases and 38 in rate of death per m. In additions, unlike Sweden, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Spain did experience an astounding increase in deaths from non-covid disease such as cancer and heart and stroke. Suicides and death by domestic violence did  increase. Spain has a mental health pandemic and serious financial problems, like all  those countries which imposed lockdowns. The Spanish government as a result of Omicron wants dearly to destroy democratic rights and freedoms again. However, a democratic institution may be stopping them.

The Supreme Court of Spain ruled lockdowns unconstitutional. Now, Spain can no longer enforce its destruction of freedoms and rights. Maybe democracy will prevail.

CANADA IS MY PERSONAL SHAME!

I am totally ashamed of my home by choice, Canada.

 LOCKDOWNS AND RESTRICTIONS

Canada is purported to be one of the world's great democracies. However, Canada, and especially the province of Ontario, has demonstrated that it has no respect at all for human rights, human freedoms, or  human dignity. Arrests, fines, seizure of property were faced by anyone who defied the lockdowns or restrictions. The city of Toronto faced the longest continuous lockdown in the world - 7 months with no break

 DEATHS AND FINANCIAL DESTRUCTION

Canada posted increased deaths among neglected non-covid-19 patients such as cancer; heart and stroke; lung, kidney, liver; HIV aids, etc, There was an increase in suicides and death from domestic violence because of prolonged quarantine and self-isolation. Jobs, livelihoods, homes, and human dignity were lost because of the financial crash caused by lockdowns and harsh restrictions. In Toronto alone, over 3000 small business collapsed, including bars, restaurants, and many other tourist attractions, the life blood of Toronto's tourist industry.

PERSONAL TRAGEDIES

Six of my friends died of heart complications after their life-saving heart surgeries were cancelled to make room for Covid-19 patients. None of my friends survived more than 10 days. The medical world callously calls them -- COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

Two of my friends died of cancer. Their surgeries to remove cancerous tumours were postponed 4 months. In that time, their cancers metastasized, and my friends died within a few more months. The medical world callously calls them -- COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

One of my friends was severely depressed during the 7-month lockdown in Toronto. He had lost his job and there was no end in sight for the lockdown. He jumped off his condo balcony and landed on a roof outcropping just outside our bedroom. I saw the EMS try to futilely revive him. The medical world callously calls him-- COLLATERAL DAMAGE. 

THE CANADIAN PRESS SUPPRESSED ANY DISSENTING OPINIONS.

Canadian press with few exceptions NOTABLY THE TORONTO GLOBE AND MAIL, would allow only opinion and reporting which supported the call for lockdowns and harsh restrictions. Any subscriber who tried to present information which questioned the lockdown and restrictions because of  the damage caused  had their comments deemed "against community standards" and were censored from publication. In Ontario, CP24 and the Toronto Star were the greatest offenders of freedom of speech. They would have fit in well in the Nazi propaganda machines so well promoted by Germany in the 1930s and 40s.

PROFESSIONALS AND POLITICIANS DISCIPLINED

What is even worse in Canada is what happened to politicians and professionals who tried to start a dialog to discuss what was wrong with the lockdown and restrictions imposed by governments on the advice of a misguided Medical Oligarchy. Dissenting professionals were disciplined and forced to be quiet. Members of legislatures were banned from their respective parties. Is this how a democracy functions? Well, it has been working this way in Canada!

CANADIAN COURTS

There are groups in Canada who have taken the lockdown laws and restrictions to lower courts hoping to get the laws declared unconstitutional, especially in light of Canada's Charter of Right and Freedoms. However, the government lawyers with the help of the lower court rulings have had the cases stopped because of technicalities, such as questioning the right of a Canadian Citizen to challenge a provincial or federal statute which contravened the constitution.

Courts are supposed to be a resort to protect democracy when governments fail. CANADIAN LOWER COURTS HAVE PROVEN TO BE AS UNDEMOCRATIC AS OUR GOVERNMENTS. IT IS A SAD SITUATION FOR CANADA.

CANADA IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A DEMOCRACY. IT WAS A HARD LESSON AND HEART-BREAKING LESSON FOR ME TO LEARN.

NOT ONLY IS IT TIME TO PUT A STOP TO THIS DESECRATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, BUT IT IS ALSO TIME TO CRIMINALLY PUNISH THOSE WHO CONTINUED TO RAIN UPON THE WORLD THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THEIR LOCKDOWNS AND RESTRICTIONS.

COULD WE PLEASE ALL WAKE UP AND STOP THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY LOCKDOWNS AND RESTRICTIONS???
