TORONTO19 STAR STILL CENSORS INCONVENIENT TRUTHS ABOUT THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS AND RESTRICTIONS

Faster-than-ever COVID-19 spread has us wondering if getting Omicron is inevitable — and what that means for the virus’ long-term future

I made a comment about the above article found in the Toronto Star. The editorial staff deactivated the content without explanation.

BASED ON MY RESEARCH AND LIFE EXPERIENCE, EVERYTHING IS ACCURATE.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE COMMENTS BELOW?

I think this article agrees with what I am reading out of Europe and South Africa. Omicron is considered less severe, but more contagious. However, the international medical community seems to believe that the Omicron wave is significantly reducing itself in countries like South Africa that have had the infections the longest.

I feel we have to return to "normal" as soon as possible, especially in medical treatment and health precaution. I had 6 friends die of heart failure after their cardiac surgeries were cancelled as "elective." I also had two friends die of cancer after their surgeries to remove tumours were delayed for 4 months, allowing the cancers to metastasize. Again, giving them life-saving "elective" surgery to cancer patients was considered less important than Covid-19 patients. Finally, a young friend, who lost his job, and could not deal with the 7-month lockdown in Toronto, committed suicide. He was a victim of the mental health pandemic caused by extended lockdowns, self-isolation, and restrictions.

I think the costs (social, psychological, physical health, financial) of a continuation of fighting Covid-19 would be too great. Especially based on what is being reported concerning the Omicron variant, it is time to let the world heal itself on all levels of human existence.
