LOCKDOWNS DID NOT WORK THE FIRST TIME SO LET'S KEEP TRYING THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Politicians and pandemic experts have not the slightest idea of how to understand and analyze statistics. Countries like the UK, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Norway, and South Korea imposed very strict lockdowns, among the first countries in the world to do so. The results were mixed, Norway and South Korea were praised for their success whereas Italy, Spain, the UK, and Belgium remain in the top 15 countries with the highest mortality rates in the world. All of the countries I have mentioned have had to reimposes lockdowns. So where is data showing lockdowns are effective or the way to go. "It did not work the first time, so let us try it again," does not seem to be a good adage to follow.

As for Sweden, a country much maligned for not imposing lockdowns ranks 25th in the world for mortality rate. Sweden is faring far better in dealing with Covid 19 than many countries who have imposed lockdowns more than once. Sweden does set limits for inside and outside gatherings, but all businesses are allowed to remain open. Check all the statistics for yourself.

Why do we not follow the Swedish model which is working about as well as lockdowns? In addition, the approach of Sweden does not destroy small businesses and the government is respecting democratic rights, and human rights and dignity.
